BG TECHNOLOGIES WINS THE SICK SALES EXCELLENCE AWARD
While in attendance at the SICK Sales Launch, BG Technologies was recognized with the SICK Sales Excellence Award. As SICK is BG Technologies flagship manufacturer, the company always sends several representatives to the kick-off.
The yearly event was held in Hilton Head, South Carolina January 25-28 and had over 340 attendees from the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Germany, and the Czech Republic. The main focus of the sales launch was SICK’s customers and learning new and innovative ways we can continue to solve their sensor and big data problems. It also affords an opportunity for distributors like BG Technologies to meet the product managers, strategic industry managers, and support personnel we rely on to continue to solve applications for our customers.
The week kicked off with product trainings and team building activities. While Hilton Head is known for wonderful weather the BG team was surprised to experience kayaking in the salt marsh at under 40 degrees! Keeping warm ended up being the ultimate team building activity. Another particular highlight was the technology forum where our sensor specialists were able to see and work with the newest technology, some of which will not be launched until later in the year.
The highlight of the week was the awards banquet held on January 28. This was SICK’s time to recognize their employees and distributors who excelled the previous year. BG Technologies was proud to be one of only three distributors in North America honored with the SICK Sales Excellence Award. The award was only opened to include distributors in 2014 and is based on skills, knowledge, attitude, and results. Brian and Beth Gibson accepted the award from Tony Peet, President of SICK USA and Markus Vatter, a member of the Executive Board of SICK AG. On top of the beautiful crystal award the honor also came with a $10,000 investment in marketing funds. These are the funds BG Technologies uses to purchase demo equipment, promotional items, and product communications. Be on the lookout for the innovative ways BG Technologies uses the $10,000 marketing fund investment that came along with the award.
